There is a vast amount of characters throughout the Star Wars lore from the movies, to series, to games, and more being one of the biggest media franchises to ever exist. For more than four decades, hundreds of characters are involved in each era of the narrative, however, not all are canon to the main story which is what is happening to the films and shows. As for Starkiller, he is one of those who originated from the game and whether he would make the jump to the big or small screens remains a question.

Starkiller's name recently resurfaced as Hasbro unveiled his figure as among Star Wars: The Black Series which became available last October 25th as per a report from IGN. Much like in the 2008 game, Starkiller dons his iconic suit with his red lightsaber. The figure is currently available for pre-order through the Hasbro Pulse website for $24.99. After the release of this six-inch figure of the character, queries arise whether Starkiller would be canon to the Star Wars and make the jump from the game to the movies or series.

In Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Galen Marek a.k.a. Starkiller is a force sensitive person whose parents died because of the Galactic Empire during the Great Jedi Purge, and because of that, he was taken in by Darth Vader to be his secret apprentice and assassin. However, Darth Vader betrayed Starkiller and left him for dead which made him join the light side. He existed between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.

He may be a fan-favorite but not everyone from the games get to make the jump to movies or series. While Starkiller may be a talented force-sensitive man, the current film and show narratives could find him too powerful for that matter. See, Starkiller already slammed the Star Destroyer to a planet, and his mastery with the Force could even be greater than that of Yoda.

Someone that powerful could mean a problem to the current story of the galaxy far, far away. Having Starkiller in the narrative could make the audience look down on the other characters that are in existence, plus there could only be a number of characters in the lore that could bring down Starkiller and most of them are either dead or not from the same timeline when Starkiller existed. There is that factor existing at a certain point in time in the Star Wars timeline to check if there's a possibility for someone to enter the lore.

Of course, there's always that power of retcon but to do so would be defeating the purpose of putting a character into any title. Like Starkiller, fan-favorites are favorites for a reason and to take away some of their attributes which people love just to try to fit them into the story is similar to finding a puzzle piece that wouldn't fit then it would be cut up so it would.
