With the upcoming Season 2 of the beloved Netflix series, Enid Sinclair actress Emma Myers reveals what she wants for her character when Season 2 arrives and she even recalled the very moment when she became Enid.
Wednesday introduced Nevermore Academy as a school for the gifted. The titular character, Wednesday Addams, has psychic powers where she gets visions of the past or the future through touch. As for her room mate, Enid Sinclair, she is a werewolf student who was still exploring on how she would have her powers manifest. By the end of the first season, she finally transformed into a full-fledged werewolf. The actress behind Enid, Emma Myers, spoke with 1883 Magazine on her breakthrough role with a wish for Enid:
She's finally grown into her wolf abilities, and I would like to see her use that instead of being scared and upset by it. I would love to see her be an instigator in things instead of just being dragged along with it.
Myers also recalled how she scored the role of Enid Sinclair and noted that the series was by Tim Burton which is something huge:
I wasn't turning down any audition at that point, especially a Tim Burton audition, you just don't pass that up. So, it wasn't really me debating whether or not I should audition or something specific drawing me to it. It's Tim Burton.. It's The Addams Family ! So you are kind of desperate to be a part of it. You'd audition, and then it would be silent, then you'd audition again, and it would be silent again. You'd go in for a callback, and then more silence. It was a lot of waiting and a lot of hoping. It was a long four-month process, but it was totally worth it.
What will Wednesday Season 2 be about?
There are changes coming in for Wednesday Season 2 from the plot points to the setting of the sequel. It was confirmed that the whole production of Wednesday Season 2 will be moving from Romania to Ireland where all of them will start the filming in Spring 2024. After being faced with the challenges in shooting their scenes in Season 1, the move from Romania to Ireland will also be bringing a change in the narrative of Wednesday Season 2 since a change in location means a change in the story, thus, the upcoming season will include more of horror and less of flirting.
Beyond that, Jenna Ortega already has some creative control in some capacity which means that there would be lesser love triangle elements and the series will focus on the scary parts which the show could deal with in the future. Wednesday Season 2 is also expected to witness how Wednesday deals with her family which means more of her family time rather than being in school.
All the episodes of Wednesday are available to stream on Netflix. There is no release date yet for Season 2.
