Mel Finally Finds Her Father
One of the major cliffhangers of the first part of the fifth season is the identity of Mel’s father. Joey brings her mom’s love letters with her when she visits Mel and Jack for the holidays, and with a little investigation, Mel finally knows his name, Everett Reid, and sees him on Christmas Eve.
Though he initially denies that he’s her father, Mel is confident it’s him. He then goes to her house on Christmas, confesses he’s her real dad, and explains his denial has something to do with her uncanny resemblance with her mom. But even before they get to know each other well, Champ tells Mel he has “something important” to say to her, which is yet to be revealed.

Charmaine Finally Gives Birth
After being pregnant for five seasons, Charmaine finally gives birth in Virgin River Season 5 Part 2. She says, “I feel like I’ve been pregnant for years.” And though Charmaine and Mel don’t have the best relationship, the latter doesn’t mind canceling her plans with Jack to help the latter's former girlfriend give birth as her midwife.
But things get intense when Mel meets Calvin at the clinic and learns he’s the twins' father. As it turns out, Calvin corners Charmaine, making her contractions worse. As Mel notices that Charmaine is uneasy around Calvin, she asks him to leave. Despite Charmaine’s rising blood pressure, she still delivers two healthy baby boys.

The Found Body of Wes
Another major cliffhanger from the first part was the body that Kaia found after the raging fire scorched away some of the land. Fans suspect that it is Wes, Paige’s abusive ex-husband, who she accidentally killed and got Preacher’s help to dispose of the body.
In the Christmas episodes, Mike calls Peacher to confirm that the body Kaia found is Wes. As he has already confessed his love for Kaia, and their romance is now growing stronger, it looks like Preacher has major repercussions to face. Aside from facing the possible consequences of Wes’ death now that Paige is out of town, his romance with Kaia may also be put to the brink.

After his breakup with Brie, Brady finds a new romance with Lark after saving her daughter from the wildfire. However, it looks like their meeting isn’t accidental. As they spend Christmas together, Lark receives a call from her daughter’s father, who happens to be Jimmy, Calvin’s right-hand man.
It’s later revealed that the two plan to have Lark strike up a relationship with Brady to take his revenge after he helped put Jimmy in prison and ruined Calvin’s operations. As Jimmy asks how Brady is, Larks tells him the poor boy doesn’t suspect a thing.

The Gender Reveal of Lizzie’s Baby
As Doc and Hope are excited about Denny and Lizzie’s baby, the latter can’t help but worry that her mother may not accept the news when she comes for Christmas. As Lizzie tries her best not to tell her, her mom finds out anyway.
Though she initially opposes her pregnancy, they eventually sort things out, with her mom asking her to give her a much cooler name than “grandma.” Of course, Lizzie obeys and even gifts her a sweatshirt with the word “Glamma” for Christmas. Later, Lizzie and Denny reveal they’re expecting a baby girl.

Cameron and Muriel’s Relationship Future
Cameron and Muriel join the Virgin River’s Christmas celebration. But while the two perform, Cameron’s ex-girlfriend arrives and wants to get back together. As expected, he turns down her request. But as Muriel stresses to Cameron that she has no plans to have kids, she gives him a chance to leave their relationship to have the family he wants.
However, Cameron tells her that she’s enough for him. Later, Muriel brings up the topic of having kids again, adding she doesn’t want Cameron to hate her one day if he doesn’t become a father. Hence, she asks Cameron to think about it long and hard, and he agrees.
With this major turn of events, fans have much to look forward to in Virgin River Season 6. Sadly, it may take a little while before they finally get the answer to their questions.
