The isekai light novel The Strongest Job is Apparently Not a Hero or a Sage, but an Appraiser (Provisional)! is making its way to television with a confirmed anime adaptation, slated for an April 2026 debut.
Along with the announcement, a teaser trailer has been released, offering a glimpse into the fantasy world and the protagonist's adventures. A striking teaser visual was also unveiled, depicting the main character amid a vast grassland with holographic appraisal interfaces floating around him.
The production team brings together experienced talent from previous fantasy adaptations. Makoto Hoshino, known for directing the first season of Banished from the Hero's Party and Utano☆Princesama Revolutions, will helm the project as director. Series composition is handled by Megumi Shimizu, who has worked on both seasons of Banished from the Hero's Party and My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!. Character designs are by Mihoko Ogawa, with credits including key animation on the Eiga Chibi Maruko-chan: Italia kara Kita Shōnen film, and Yoshie Matsumoto, who served as sub-character designer on Banished from the Hero's Party. The animation will be produced by Studio Flad.

The Strongest Job is Apparently Not a Hero or a Sage, but an Appraiser (Provisional)! originated as a light novel series written by Atekichi and illustrated by Akira Shigaraki. It began serialization on the AlphaPolis website in March 2017, with the first physical volume published later that year. The series has since grown in popularity, reaching a cumulative sales figure exceeding 850,000 copies. The eighth volume was recently released on October 22, 2025. In addition to the novels, a manga adaptation illustrated by Atsushi Takeda has been running, further expanding the franchise.
