The Marvel Cinematic Universe ended one of the best sagas that cinema has ever witnessed with the Infinity Saga. After that ship sailed, everything was in shambles and new things are on the horizon, too. It all started in Phase Four with how the characters are dealing with their respective losses and introducing news ones, and as the franchise courses through Phase Five, The Marvels just dropped a whole set up for the future of the MCU in its ending, post-credits, and end-credits scene.

What happened in the end of The Marvels?

Of course, in every MCU movie comes the big moment at the end and for The Marvels, Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Monica Rambeau had to go all out against the villain of the movie, Dar-Benn. As Dar-Benn got the bangle from Kamala Khan, she used the two Quantum Bands which opened a wormhole which ultimately killed her. The wormhole was a portal through another reality and Monica knew how to close it but that meant a sacrifice: Monica would need to close the portal from the other side after Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel charges her.

It was a success but that left Monica in a different dimension. What this brings to the MCU is that Monica ends up in an alternate reality and it may be setting her up for an adventure through the timelines should she want to go home. Since Monica is a new hero, this definitely means that this is not the end of her story.

Meanwhile, Kamala is back home and Nick Fury asks her where Captain Marvel and Monica Rambeau are. Monica is in another reality and Captain Marvel is in Hala, helping them to reignite the sun. Kamala thought that since Earth does not have the Avengers anymore, Kamala thought it'd be best to use S.A.B.E.R. to look into new recruits. Similar to how Nick Fury recruited Iron Man in 2008, Kamala used the exact same words to Kate Bishop to which Kate Bishop seems to agree to.

In their conversation, Kamala mentioned Cassie Lang, daughter of Ant-Man. This brings the Young Avengers into the picture and soon, there might be a way for the MCU to bring them all together. The possible members other than the above-mentioned are: Riri Williams/ Ironheart, Eli Bradley/ Patriot, Billy Kaplan/ Wiccan, Tommy Shepherd/ Speed, and America Chavez.

If that ending with the Young Avengers tease blew your mind, well, the only post-credits scene of The Marvels will shock the life out of you. The end-credits of The Marvels continues the scene of Monica Rambeau being trapped in another dimension. She woke up in a clad-white hospital and as much as that was a surprise, the one with her is none other than her mother, Maria Rambeau. Maria dons the suit similar to that of Binary which could be paving way for her version of it.

Unfortunately, in this timeline, Maria does not know any Monica and that is confusing on Monica's part but someone else enters the room that made everyone cheer: it's Kelsey Grammer's Hank McCoy a.k.a. Beast from the X-Men movies! Beast is in his usual blue façade, and more than that, Beast mentioned that a certain "Charles" was looking forward for an update. This may refer to Charles Xavier/ Professor X who recently appeared in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
