In a double header, the Marvel Cinematic Universe releases two big projects in one week with the finale of Loki Season 2 and the theatrical arrival of The Marvels. Loki Season 2 ended in one of the most satisfying endings with the God of Mischief finding his glorious purpose. The Marvels, on the other hand, brings the bigger picture for the future of the MCU with a surprise cameo appearance in the end credits scene of the movie as an X-Men character makes his way to the MCU.
The Marvels brings together an uncanny trio to face a gender-bent villain from the comics, Dar-Benn. Carol Danvers finally reveals what has been keeping her busy throughout the years but a glitch in her system brings her to a peculiar place which seems to be a place of worship for her. That might sound weird but that is Kamala Khan's room and through the said glitch, they exchange places upon using their abilities. The mix-up brought them together along with Monica Rambeau. The end of the film witnessed a surprising cameo appearance from a familiar face that makes everyone scream in excitement: it is Kelsey Grammer's Beast!

The end of The Marvels put Dar-Benn through the Quantum Bands which opens up a hole through space time in the main timeline of the MCU in 616. The other side of the hole is a different alternate reality and as Monica Rambeau weaves the tear, she has to go to the other end to save Earth-616 but that would mean that she would be trapped in another universe. She made the ultimate sacrifice and blacked out.
Monica wakes up and to her surprise, the one who was there for her in the hospital is none other than her mother, Maria Rambeau. As Monica cries after meeting her mother once more, a confused Maria notes that they are strangers that that Maria has no idea who Monica is. A familiar face enters the room with a furry blue doctor and it is Kelsey Grammer's Hank McCoy a.k.a. Beast from the X-Men movies in the past.
The Marvels finally brought in another member of the X-Men into the MCU after the appearance of Patrick Stewart in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. However, the character was immediately obliterated by Wanda Maximoff as she breaks through the reality revealed to her by the Darkhold. Now that Kelsey Grammer's Hank McCoy a.k.a. Beast appeared in the end of The Marvels, the MCU seems to be setting up the stage for the arrival of the mutants into narrative.
However, the character is in CGI and Marvel Studios could have a lot of reasons to do so. First is that Marvel Studios would most likely want to have the appearance of Beast in The Marvels to be kept under wraps and not leaked online. The use of stand-ins on set may have been be used so that there would be no leaks that the X-Men character would arrive on the film because the people on set would only see the stand-ins. Another possible reason is that the efforts of putting make-up would require Kelsey Grammer to go through such for a very small scene and that is not practical. Lastly, it could be a late addition to the story of The Marvels, or an afterthought.
The Marvels is out in theaters worldwide.
