Star Wars has proven itself to be one of the most successful franchises even after more than 40 years in existence that wherever it goes, it becomes a hit. The franchise entered into Disney Plus with a whole bunch of new stories to tell with the Mandoverse's series. One of the upcoming shows is The Acolyte and new reports reveal that two actors of the series will be playing not just one, but two different characters.
In November 2022, Disney+ officially announced the actors who would form part of the upcoming Star Wars series titled The Acolyte. The show banners a star-studded cast of a variety of actors who will make their debut in Star Wars. In a recent report from Daniel Richtman (via ComicBookMovie.com), the scooper said that two stars of the show, Amandla Stenberg and Manny Jacinto, will be playing two different characters in The Acolyte.
The same report reveals that Stenberg will be playing the role of twins, both Force-sensitive and of Sith origins. The twins will reportedly be going on different paths where one remains Sith who later becomes a Sith Assassin tasked to put down a Jedi Master to be played by Carrie Anne Moss, and the other twin would be trained by the Jedi. As for Manny Jacinto's characters, he will also have characters from two different ends of the spectrum, one good and the other bad.
This report, however, remains unconfirmed, so please take it as a grain of salt. There is still no better confirmation than that from Lucasfilm or the actors themselves.
What will Star Wars: The Acolyte be about?
Star Wars: The Acolyte is one of the most highly anticipated Lucasfilm series to arrive on Disney Plus which is created by Leslye Headland. The show will delve into the end of the High Republic era, just before everything that happened in the main Star Wars movies, around a century before Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace. The series will follow a former Padawan who will reunite with her previous Jedi Master in an investigation on the crimes that are happening but as they explore, more sinister things happen.
Star Wars: The Acolyte stars Amandla Stenberg who will play the former Padawan, Lee Jung-jae as a Jedi Master, Dafne Keen as a young Jedi, Manny Jacinto, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Hernderson as Vernestra Rwoh, Charlie Bartnett, Dean-Charles Chapman, Carrie-Anne Moss as a Jedi Master, Margarita Levieva, Amy Tsang, and Joonas Suotamo as a Wookie Jedi Master, Kelnacca.
Star Wars: The Acolyte has no release date yet but it is slated for a 2024 release.
