A highly anticipated Star Wars series just got an awesome update. The Writers Guild of America (WGA) has officially revealed the list of writers who will be working on The Acolyte. Interestingly, it looks like showrunner Leslye Headland has assembled an impressive team featuring writers who have worked on House of the Dragon, WandaVision, and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier!

The official WGA website confirmed the list of writers who penned each episode of The Acolyte. Not surprisingly, showrunner Leslye Headland wrote the premiere while the second episode was a collaboration between Jason Micallef (Heathers) and Charmaine DeGrate (House of the Dragon). Episode 3 is another collaboration between Jasmyne Flournoy (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) and Eileen Shim (House of the Dragon) while Claire Kiechel (Watchmen) and Kor Adana (Mr. Robot) wrote the fourth episode. Adana also worked with Cameron Squires (WandaVision) for Episode 5 and Micallef collaborated with Jocelyn Bioh (Russian Doll) for the sixth episode. The penultimate episode was written by DeGrate, Flournoy, and Jen Richards (Her Story) and Micallef returns for the season finale.

The writing team of The Acolyte is highly promising, boasting a diverse mix of backgrounds. Particularly exciting is the significant representation of female writers, marking a positive step towards enhancing diversity behind the scenes of the Star Wars universe. While Lucasfilm has yet to officially confirm all the directors, the series is already shaping up with a talented team.

What We Know So Far About The Acolyte

Star Wars: The Acolyte is a highly anticipated addition to the Star Wars TV lineup, set to explore the Dark Side and the rise of the Sith at the end of the High Republic Era. The eight-episode drama is a unique and exciting venture, offering a perspective largely from the Sith's point of view. Furthermore, the show is set in a period that predates the Skywalker Saga, providing viewers with a fresh and uncharted era in the Star Wars timeline.

Despite the limited information available about Star Wars: The Acolyte, it promises to be a mystery-thriller in which Jedi characters uncover the growing darkness that threatens to engulf the galaxy. This air of mystery adds to the intrigue, especially since the series is expected to feature more live-action Jedi than any previous live-action Star Wars TV show. The clash between the light and dark sides of the Force is a compelling premise that fans eagerly anticipate.

Fans are hopeful that Lucasfilm will release the trailer that was showcased at Star Wars Celebration, allowing a broader audience to appreciate the beauty and creativity of The Acolyte.
