Star Wars is now hard at work to hype up the upcoming release of its new animated series, Tales of the Empire. After the exciting finale of Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 3, Barriss Offee and Morgan Elsbeth’s untold stories are about to take the scene. To give fans a good look at what’s to come, a new trailer shows the tense deal between Offee and Fourth Sister.

You can see the preview below:

The new Tales of the Empire starts with the Fourth Sister visiting Offee in her cell. The ex-Jedi then calls the Inquisitorius member by her former name, Lyn, which the latter reveals she doesn’t use anymore. “Things have changed,” she says.

As Offee wonders why the Fourth Sister sees her, she asks what the Jedi Council wants. However, the Fourth Sister clears she doesn’t represent the council this time but has a personal reason. She then reveals the reason behind Offee’s imprisonment, serving a life sentence for crimes she did against the Republic but accused the Jedi of murder and treason during her trial.

But amid the doubts surrounding her accusations, the Fourth Sister believes Offee was right. The former revealed the Jedi tried to assassinate Chancellor Palpatine. Confused, Offee has no idea what it has to do with her. Before the trailer ends, the Fourth Sister tells her why she visits her: to give her a mysterious opportunity, which remains unknown.

Meredith Salenger Teased What's to Come for Barriss Offee in Star Wars: Tales of the Empire

In an interview shared on Star Wars’ official website, Meredith Salenger, the voice behind Offee, talked about her role in Tales of the Empire. Like fans, she revealed she was waiting to see what happened to her character after Star Wars: The Clone Wars. And by the looks of it, there would be big revelations about the former Padawan.

“Dave [Filoni] told me there were things to come for her, but he never said what,” she said.

Salenger first voiced Offee in The Clone Wars Season 2. Several years after the series ended, she was glad to reprise her role and see what would happen to Offee next after receiving a call.

“It was the most exciting thing ever to get the call to come back as Barriss. Honestly, I love playing her,” she continued.

Tales of the Empire’s six episodes will be equally divided between the stories of Offee and Elsbeth, and the last three will be about Offee. It will pick up where her story ends in The Clone Wars Season 5 finale. And if the trailer didn’t reveal the deal that the Fourth Sister offered to Offee, it’s to join the Empire as an Inquisitorius member like her or rot in the cell and serve her life sentence following Order 66.

Tales of the Empire really begins her story again in such an interesting, conflicted place, and it's just the best arc of a character I think I've ever had,” Salenger added. “To survive, she has to make a choice she doesn't want to make. I think she still holds on to her moral convictions. She's presented with a path she doesn't particularly want to take, but she knows it's the only way.”
