The galaxy far, far away has been a witness to many relationships over the last four decades and it continues to be surprised by new romances. An iconic Star Wars character, R2D2, has been a fan-favorite since then, and it turns out, as revealed in a Star Wars canon, that he has a girlfriend whom he already knew for quite some time: Qutee.
R2D2 is best known for his appearance in the original trilogy of Star Wars as an astromech who helped the Rebellion's cause against the Empire. R2D2 has always been a star among Star Wars fans. He first appeared in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope and had witnessed the whole original trilogy of the franchise. R2D2 also lived through the prequel trilogy and even the sequel trilogy, making the droid a beloved Star Wars character that lived through the different trilogies. He even made a cameo in Rogue One. Currently, with the Star Wars television series being the heart of the franchise recently, R2D2 made various short appearances in Star Wars: Droids, Rebels, The Clone Wars, The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and lastly, in Part 1 of Obi-Wan Kenobi.
It would not be a surprise to see R2D2 again in any of the upcoming Star Wars shows considering how the characters has been ever present so far in the whole Star Wars franchise. Since he is a droid, this is possible only because he does not have the same lifespan as that of other characters being a programmed droid. Still, to see him with a girlfriend comes as a cute surprise for all.
