Billy Dee Williams has some big news coming soon. The Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker actor just dropped an interesting tweet hyping up a major update. Not surprisingly, it already has fans excited about the possible return of the original Lando Calrissian.
It has been a long time since we caught up with Billy Dee Williams after he returned as Han Solo's old friend in The Rise of Skywalker almost four years ago. Despite that, the Batman (1989) star continues to be a significant figure in the Star Wars Universe. In addition to that, Williams just confirmed he will be involved in an awesome new project that will be announced soon.
Williams posted a new message on his official Twitter/ X account. Although it initially reads like just another exciting update for the actor, he did conclude with a statement that clearly teases a new Star Wars project.
"I am thrilled to share that something truly magnificent is coming soon," Williams wrote. "This is a dream come true for me, on all that has sustained and carried me through a lifetime of dreams and adventure, it is my honor to share with you. It certainly sounds like something big is coming but what Star Wars project could Billy Dee Williams be hyping up now? We're wondering if it might be Lando Calrissian's possible return in the new film that will bring back Daisy Ridley as Rey. However, there's a bigger chance that it will be something that will focus on Lando himself.
The Lando Calrissian series recently got an update as Donald Glover was confirmed to write the screenplay along with his brother Stephen Glover. The news comes shortly after the previously confirmed director Justin Simien revealed he hasn't received any new details about the show since 2020. Unfortunately, this means that Simien is no longer involved with the project. On the other hand, there's a huge possibility that Williams will show up in the series.
