Star Wars: Here's Why Ahsoka's New Inquisitor Marrok Is NOT Vader's Apprentice

They may share the same voice actor but Ahsoka's Marrok might not be the Star Wars character fans claim he is

If you're a devoted Ahsoka fan, you're likely engrossed in speculations about the enigmatic Inquisitor named Marrok featured in the Star Wars show. The lightsaber-wielding, masked figure presents a formidable adversary for Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren, while the mystery shrouding their true identity only deepens the intrigue. So is it true that Marrok is actually a fan-favorite character from the games? One theory tries to debunk the identity of the Force user behind the mask.

One of the most popular theories gaining traction is the possibility that Marrok might be linked to the non-canon Force Unleashed games. Fans continue to believe that the former Inquisitor is actually Galen Marek aka Starkiller. After all, several intriguing connections have been unearthed to support this theory. Notably, the similarities in the names "Marek" and "Marrok" have caught fans' attention. Additionally, both characters are voiced by Sam Witwer, who also happens to be the voice actor behind Darth Maul (but that's a whole different story).

But what are the chances that Marrok is Starkiller? One Reddit user points out that although several fans are eager to see Galen Marek make his live-action debut, these people "don't really know who Starkiller was." They also state that Darth Vader wouldn't expose his "secret apprentice" so easily.

"I seriously doubt Vader would've put his 'secret apprentice' among other Inquisitors just like that. Literally the only way I see him being a Starkiller is if he was just an underpowered clone of the original Starkiller, but that would just be kinda lame honestly and only would be done out of pure fan service," they wrote.

That does make sense but Marrok is far from underpowered. He has already proven that he could easily take on Ahsoka in the two-episode premiere and we're already looking forward to their upcoming rematch in Episode 4. With that in mind, it would be refreshing to simply see Marrok as a completely new character who is voiced by Witwer (who, by the way, has played a lot of Star Wars characters in his career).
