Ahsoka might be about the search for Grand Admiral Thrawn but the new Star Wars series has also introduced an intriguing new character. Marrok has been the topic of several fan discussions as everyone is wondering about the person behind the mask. Amazingly, Episode 3 may have dropped an interesting new clue about the former Inquisitor and it might confirm his identity!
In Ahsoka Episode 3, Ahsoka Tano, Sabine Wren, and Huyang travel to Seatos where they discover the Eye of Sion. However, they are intercepted by a squadron of fighters led by Shin Hati and Marrok. During the chase, Shin communicates with Marrok and amazingly, he finally responds to her.
The idea of Marrok speaking is already shocking in itself considering he never utters a word in the first two episodes of Ahsoka. Although his lines are scarce and the character is portrayed by Paul Darnell, the voice that delivers them is unmistakably familiar.
We already know that the previous end credits for Ahsoka confirm that Sam Witwer contributed as part of the "additional voices" in the series. After hearing Marrok speak, fans are convinced that the Darth Maul voice actor is providing the former Inquisitor's voice. And not surprisingly, people are convinced that Witwer's involvement confirms Marrok's identity.
In addition to providing the voice of Maul, Witwer portrayed Darth Vader's secret apprentice Galen Marek aka Starkiller in The Force Unleashed video games. The similarity between Starkiller's real name and Marrok isn't lost on fans, either. With that in mind, people are now convinced that the former Inquisitor will be revealed to be Starkiller before the series ends.
It's an exciting development for Ahsoka but there are other theories about Marrok's true identity. For instance, a fan theory suggests that he might actually be Ezra Bridger who has decided to work with Grand Admiral Thrawn and join the Dark Side. This particular idea would be a major plot twist and a heartbreaking one for both Ahsoka and Sabine Wren.
For now, some people believe that Marrok is just ... Marrok, a new character who was introduced to serve Morgan Elsbeth and several fan theories. Needless to say, viewers will be keeping an eye (and ear) out for Marrok in the upcoming episodes of Ahsoka. In the meantime, Episode 4 is already set for release on September 5, 2023.
