Ahsoka had become an avenue for the Star Wars Rebels series characters to make their live-action debuts on Disney+ as the show reveals their future in the franchise. For Ezra Bridger, his fate was revealed to be luckily unlucky because while he may have escaped Peridea, he became separated from his friends. In a recent event at the Dallas Fan Festival, the actor Eman Esfandi who plays Ezra in Ahsoka had a heartfelt reunion with the droid, Chopper.
Ahsoka unveiled the on-screen debut of the live-action counterparts of the Star Wars Rebels crew with Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, and Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger. The series revealed their fate and what comes next for them after the finale of Ahsoka. With Rosario Dawson's Ahsoka Tano, Sabine Wren was not fortunate enough to escape Peridea but for Ezra Bridger, he managed to get away and reunite with Hera Syndulla.
At the Dallas Fan Festival, as revealed in a video shared by X (formerly Twitter) user Big Screen Berkan, showed the reunion between Eman Esfandi and an amazing replica of Chopper. The actor shared his excitement in seeing Chopper, similar to the scene in Ahsoka finale. As the droid responds to him, Esfandi cannot hold back his enthusiasm. See the clip below:
When will Ezra Bridger return in Star Wars?
The Ahsoka finale sets up what is in store for the whole family of Rebels. For Ezra Bridger, his first live-action debut means that there is more to come in his story and that he will surely return for more in the near future. This has been one of the systems in Star Wars that when one character makes the jump from the animated series to the live-action shows, they, more or less, get another chance in the narrative of the galaxy far, far away, and one need not look further as that is what exactly happened to Ahsoka Tano.
Ezra reunited with Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren first before being separated from them as he managed to escape Peridea and while that departure may mean some sadness, Ezra later reunites with Hera Syndulla with Chopper and they could later explore the galaxy far, far away with Ezra having the chance to meet Jacen, Hera's son. With the Rebels family separated from each other, their full reunion is expected to happen soon in Star Wars. That only means that Eman Esfandi will be back to reprise his role in the near future.
If there would be Ahsoka Season 2, this is the most likely project where Ezra Bridger could return. The finale set him up with Hera Syndulla whom he may work with in bringing the opposition of the New Republic against the threats of Thrawn and the Imperial Remnants. Ezra may also appear in any of the upcoming Star Wars shows like The Mandalorian Season 4 to recruit Din Djarin and Grogu or even in Skeleton Crew.
