Disney+ is now gearing up for the release of Ahsoka this month. After revealing new trailers and character posters, Star Wars has unveiled the series’ full release schedule, making fans more excited for the much-awaited return of the former Jedi Padawan. Aside from the Force-sensitive Togruta female, the show will also feature many Star Wars Rebels characters and a battle against Grand Admiral Thrawn.
True to Star Wars style, not much is known about Ahsoka aside from what its promotions have revealed. However, fans already have high expectations for the series after Disney+ and Lucasfilm successfully hyped the show. Thankfully, fans now know when to see the new episodes.
The Star Wars official X account (formerly known as Twitter) has unveiled the release dates for each series episode. There will be a total of eight episodes running for seven weeks until October. As many may already know, Ahsoka will have a two-episode premiere on August 23.
A weekly release will then follow it. The third episode will be out on August 30, Episode 4 on September 6, Episode 5 on September 13, Episode 6 on September 20, Episode 7 on September 27, and the eighth and final episode on October 4. Compared to Netflix, Disney+ has a more traditional approach when streaming its series’ new episodes. Instead of dropping all the episodes simultaneously, it drops them weekly.
The Alleged Runtimes of Ahsoka’s Episodes
Meanwhile, before Star Wars unveiled Ahsoka’s release schedule, X user Cryptic4KQual, known for accurately leaking the runtime of The Mandalorian Season 3’s episodes, revealed the alleged runtimes for each episode. Episodes 1 and 2 will allegedly run for 54 minutes and 21 seconds and 42 minutes and 15 seconds each. Considering these will be streamed at the same time, their combined runtime will be 1 hour, 36 minutes, and 36 seconds.
However, fans should only take this with a grain of salt, as Disney+ is yet to confirm the claim. But given Cryptic4KQual’s reputation, this may be true.
With the incredible hype surrounding Ahsoka, all eyes are now on Ahsoka Tano's return to the small screen. Three live-action series -- The Book of Bobba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Andor -- were released last year with mixed reactions. And with this new offering, fans hope it can exceed their expectations.
