The official website of Sakamoto Days TV anime has released the teaser trailer, preview stills, and official synopsis for Episode 3, which is scheduled to release on Netflix globally on January 25, 2025. The title of the episode is Welcome to Sugar Park, and it's set to introduce a fan-favorite character from Yuto Suzuki's action comedy manga series, Yoichi Nagumo, who's voiced by Natsuki Hanae (the voice of Tanjiro Kamado in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba).
The official synopsis of Sakamoto Days Episode 3 reads:
The twin assassins Son Hee and Bacho were defeated, and Sakamoto and Shin successfully protected Lu’s precious family heirloom. Lu, who ended up working at Sakamoto’s store, gets into an argument with Shin when Nagumo, Sakamoto’s former colleague from his assassin days, appears. Nagumo informs them that a bounty of 1 billion yen has been placed on Sakamoto’s head. Now targeted by assassins, Sakamoto finds himself in the worst possible situation—taking his family to an amusement park…

Sakamoto Days anime premiered earlier this month on Netlfix, and it will run for two split cours. Part 2 is scheduled to premiere in July 2025. The main staff includes Masaki Watanabe (Bartender) as the director, Taku Kishimoto (BLUE LOCK) as the series composer, and Yo Moriyama (MEGALOBOX director) as the character designer. TMS Entertainment, the same animation studio behind Dr. Stone anime, is producing the animation of Sakamoto Days.
What is Sakamoto Days about?
Sakamoto Days is based on the action comedy manga series by Yuto Suzuki. The series has been serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since November 2020, and as of January 2025, 20 tankōbon volumes have been published.
VIZ Media, the official English publisher of the manga, shared a description for Sakamoto Days:
Time has passed peacefully for Sakamoto since he left the underworld. He’s running a neighborhood store with his lovely wife and child and has gotten a bit…out of shape. But one day a figure from his past pays him a visit with an offer he can’t refuse: return to the assassin world or die!
