The Remarried Empress Teases Shin Min-a, Ju Ji-hoon, Lee Jong-suk and Lee Se-young's Tangled Court Romances in New Chemistry Teaser

One broken promise is all it takes to set four tangled hearts in motion in The Remarried Empress.

Shin Min-a's Navier watches the perfect imperial marriage she once trusted begin to crack in a new romance chemistry video for The Remarried Empress. The video traces how her bond with Ju Ji-hoon's Sovieshu gives way to his dangerous new feelings for Lee Se-young's Rashta, while Lee Jong-suk's Heinrey steps into Navier's life at her lowest moment.

Disney+ released the chemistry video and a set of illustrated character posters on October 28, offering the clearest look yet at the four leads and the relationships between them. The posters are styled like imperial portraits, with each character framed in colors chosen to reflect their personality and place in the story.

The video opens with Navier and Sovieshu as they once appeared to the court, the seemingly flawless emperor and empress of the Eastern Empire. In one scene, Sovieshu promises Navier, "No matter what happens, you are the only woman who will ever be my wife." Later scenes of the two facing each other coldly hint at how completely that promise has broken down.

Sovieshu's growing feelings for Rashta then take over the video, as the emperor admits what the runaway slave has awakened in him. "Thanks to her, I learned for the first time what it feels like to be excited by someone," he says. He later declares to Rashta, "You will become the empress," a line that raises the stakes for Navier and for the future of the Eastern Empire.

Navier and Heinrey's budding romance closes out the video, beginning with the empress reckoning with everything she has lost. When Navier remarks, "The things I thought would last forever can no longer do so," Heinrey casually responds, "Then you should get revenge. Make a very handsome, high-ranking man your lover," boldly making his move. Their chemistry is teased further by a note from "Queen," Heinrey's other identity, which reads, "Isn't our meeting fate?"

The illustrated posters carry the same contrasts into still form, giving each of the four leads a distinct visual identity. Navier exudes regal grace, unwavering strength and alluring charm against a backdrop of red and beige. Sovieshu's poster uses deep blue and green tones that reflect his cool, calculating nature as emperor.

Heinrey stands out with an emerald-hued look that conveys mystery and sophistication as the prince of the Western Empire. Rashta radiates lovely charm against a bright pink backdrop adorned with flowers. Together, the four portraits raise questions about how each character's choices will shake the imperial court.

Based on a popular web novel, The Remarried Empress follows Navier, the perfect empress of the Eastern Empire, whose husband cheats on her with Rashta and divorces her. Navier responds by marrying Heinrey, setting up a romance built on love, betrayal and revenge. The series is directed by Jo Soo-won, who previously helmed I Hear Your Voice and Thirty But Seventeen.
