The anime adaptation of Kogitsune Kanekiru's Re:Monster light novel series is set to premiere in a few days, and over the weekend, the production team for the anime series has released a new trailer that announced a new cast member: Nene Hieda as the tomboy princess Rubilia. Re:Monster anime is scheduled to premiere on April 4 on Crunchyroll, and you can check out the character visual for Rubilia below:

The new promotional video also previewed the opening and ending theme songs of the Re:Monster TV anime. Japanese hip-hop artist AK-69, and Changsung, a member of the South Korean boy band 2PM, are collaborating the produce the opening theme song Into the Fire with vocals by 2AM boy band member Lee Changmin. The ending theme song titled Sadame (written as "Unmei" or Fate) is performed by the rock vocal duo EverdreaM.

Studio DEEN is in charge of the animation of Re:Monster TV anime, with Takayuki Inagaki (Birdie Wing -Golf Girls' Story-, Chio's School Road) as the director while Hiroshi Yamaguchi (To Heart, Comic Party, ToHeart2) is working on the series composition. Other staff includes Junichi Takaoka as the character designer, Go Sakabe as the music composer, and Norito Kondo as the director of photography.

The Re:Monster light novels are written by Kanekiru Kogitsune. While Naji Yanagida illustrated the Dark Continent series, Yamaada illustrated most of the volumes of Re:Monster. The isekai fantasy series started in 2012 and as of 2017, it had 10 main volumes. Prior to the light novels, the series was published as a web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou. The Dark Continent arc volumes began in 2018 and as of 2020, it had three volumes.

What is Re:Monster about?

Seven Seas Entertainment, the publisher of Haruyoshi Kobayakawa's ongoing manga adaptation of Re:Monster, shared the following description of the series:

When a young man begins life anew as a lowly goblin, he forges past all obstacles with a combination of strength, smarts, and a monstrous appetite in this action-packed shonen fantasy manga! Tomokui Kanata has suffered an untimely death, but his adventures are far from over. He is reborn into a fantastical world of monsters and magic—as a lowly goblin! But Kanata, or Gob-Rou as he is now named, is not about to let that stop him. Re:Monster also inspired a mobile game of the same title where players take on the role of a goblin. The game was released for the Android and iOS in February 2016.
