Netflix is now hard at work for the nearing release of one of its most-awaited K-dramas this year, Parasyte: The Grey. After dropping the comic mystery chase drama Chicken Nugget last week, viewers should get ready to be scared and thrilled by the live-action adaptation of Hitoshi Iwaaki’s best-selling manga, Parasyte. And to give a glimpse of how the streamer will expand the universe of the mangaka’s brainchild, it now drops its official trailer, showing how a parasitic organism tries to take over Jeon So-nee but fails to do so completely.
You can see the preview below:
The trailer for Parasyte: The Grey opens with So-nee in the hospital, being looked after by a police officer as her case has been the third violent crime of the day. Kwon Hae-hyo has been wondering how she is doing after getting hit by a car, not knowing that the incident happened at the time the parasite entered her brain. As these parasitic life forms start to conquer the universe, So-nee talks with the parasite inside her, warning her that if they don’t combine as one, they will end up dead.
In another scene, the humans dominated by the parasites gather to discuss how the people try to study, chase, and slaughter their kind, as Lee Jung-hyun unveils a parasitic creature in front of her peers. A fellow parasite notices that So-nee is different, asking if she’s mixed with a human, while a woman reveals she’s good at pretending.
As the man considers her a threat to their species, an intense battle begins. The preview also shows Koo Gyo-hwan talking to So-nee, telling her life has been brutal, just like the creature inside her. He then asks her to work with him as he finds his missing younger sister. But amid So-nee’s efforts to stop her kind to help people, Jung-hyun declares an operation to kill all the parasites.
Moreover, Netflix also drops a new key visual for Parasyte: The Grey, centering on the three main characters: So-nee, Jung-hyun, and Gyo-hwan. The three are surrounded by other monstrous parasitic creatures and the members of Team Gray as they try to eliminate the parasitic life forms on Earth.
