July is about to bid goodbye, and Netflix is gearing up to release new content for the upcoming month of August. Fans may not have moved on yet from the final season of Sweet Home, the first part of Cobra Kai Season 6, and the return of Eddie Murphy in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, but they will soon witness the epic finale of The Umbrella Academy Season 4 and the director’s cut of Zack Snyder’s sci-fi saga Rebel Moon – Part One & Two, among many others. So, from K-drama, anime, and more, here are the new movies and TV shows coming to Netflix in August 2024.
Fans are about to see the epic reunion of the Hargreeves siblings for the last time in The Umbrella Academy Season 4. After losing their powers in the previous season finale, it has been a big mystery how Viktor, Luther, Diego, Allison, Klaus, Number Five, and Ben will regain their special abilities. Sure, the answer to this question remains to be seen, but the final season trailers hint at the return of their superpowers. So, with the reset timeline, new enemies, and a new normal, the Hargreeves will finally come together for one last fight to set things right.
After 13 years, the love story of Sawako and Kazehaya will finally continue in Kimi Ni Todoke: From Me To You Season 3. However, they won’t be the only ones to have a romantic relationship. Their friends, Ayane, Chizuru, Ryu, and Kento, will also brew new romances as the story of their intertwining love unfolds. Thankfully, the long wait for this fan-favorite shoujo anime will soon be over, as the new season will come to Netflix in August.
The much-awaited Rebel Moon – The Director’s Cut will finally be released next month. However, compared to the original’s PG-13 rating, this one will be R-rated due to its more brutal scenes and sexual content, showing a bloodier and sexier epic sci-fi saga. This time, viewers are about to see Kora and Gunnar taking their love to another level with their never-before-seen intimate scene. The fights will also be gorier and more brutal, as the war will be full of blood and violence. As Netflix promotes, the director’s cut promises to give Snyder’s true vision.
Of course, Netflix’s new lineup will never be complete without a K-drama. After Sweet Home Season 3, fans are about to see a different Go Min-si in The Frog. From a loving sister, she will now be a dangerous guest as she’s about to bring terror to a lovely pension house being looked after by veteran actor Kim Yoon-seok. Directed by World of the Married’s Mo Wan-il, this upcoming mystery thriller promises to disturb every viewer’s mind.
In addition, Wednesday breakout star Emma Myers will have her own case to solve in the new murder mystery A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder. From a girly werewolf roommate Enid Sinclair, Myers will soon be seen as a smart and single-minded Pip Fitz-Amobi, who will investigate a closed case of a high school student who was killed five years prior. Based on Holly Jackson’s hit YA mystery novel of the same title, Myers will be sleuthing her way on the small screen this summer.
