The Spring season has finally started, meaning a new slate of anime series begins. Among the many big titles fans have been waiting to see is My Hero Academia Season 7, as it’s about to enter its final phase. And to give viewers a glimpse of the intense fights unfolding, the recent Anime Japan 2024 has made a big reveal, dropping a new trailer that puts the fan-favorite heroes in the spotlight led by Deku himself.

You can see the preview below:

The My Hero Academia Season 7 trailer opens with Deku promising to regain what they have lost. Knowing an all-out war is inevitable now that the enemies are on the loose, he, along with his fellow heroes, prepare for the biggest fight they’re about to face. The villains then enter the scene, led by a sinister-looking Tomura Shigaraki, followed by Himiko Toga and Dabi, threatening the people after turning their eyes away from the future of the superhuman society.

Of course, All Might will never let it slide as he declares to end it all. However, Shigaraki isn’t afraid of All Might and the other heroes, as he vows to do what the former No. 1 Pro Hero bids. All for One then appears, warning that heroes have to protect a lot to make them win. But as Endeavor shows up, he vows it’s his mission to end this battle while Mirko emerges to announce the start of the fight.

From there, an intense turn of events begins, with the appearances of Shoto Todoroki, Mezo Shoji, Momo Yaoyorozu, Ochao Uraraka, and Koji Koda. As Deku comes into view again, the fight between the heroes and villains begins while the much-awaited opening theme, Dogatai by TK from Rin Toshi Sigure, plays in the background, making the combat more extreme. Before the preview ends, Deku promises not to let anyone get hurt again after Shigaraki reveals the only thing he wants is for everything to collapse.

What to Expect from My Hero Academia Season 7

My Hero Academia Season 7 is expected to continue where the previous season left off, adapting the manga’s Star and Stripe arc and introducing the U.S. hero of the same name. As the body transfiguration of Shigaraki nears its completion, All Might asks for the foreign heroes’ help. But despite being the U.S.’s No. 1 Pro Hero, Star and Stripe will see her defeat after Shigaraki steals her quirk.

In addition, the new season is also expected to adapt the U.A. Traitor arc. Here, a traitor will leak important information to the enemies amid Class 1-A’s preparation for the final fight against All for One, Shigaraki, and the rest of the League of Villains and Paranormal Liberation Front members.

You can read the anime’s main synopsis below:

Izuku has dreamt of being a hero all his life—a lofty goal for anyone but especially challenging for a kid with no superpowers. That’s right, in a world where eighty percent of the population has some kind of super-powered ‘quirk,’ Izuku was unlucky enough to be born completely normal. But that’s not enough to stop him from enrolling in one of the world’s most prestigious hero academies.

The anime is based on the manga of the same title by Kohei Horikoshi. Starting its serialization in July 2014, it has collected 39 tankobon volumes as of November 2023. It has sold over 85 million copies as of February 2023, making it one of the best-selling manga of all time. Hence, it’s no surprise that it has spawned a huge media franchise, inspiring numerous spin-off manga. It has even expanded into light novels, stage plays, and different types of merchandise and media, including video games.

It has also been adapted into anime by Bones, with the first season released from April to June 2016, second season from April to September 2017, third season from April to September 2018, fourth season from October 2019 to April 2020, fifth season from March to September 2021, and sixth season from October 2022 to March 2023. It also has three animated films, titled My Hero Academia: Two HeroesMy Hero Academia: Heroes Rising, and My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission, and nine original video animations (OVA). A fourth animated movie, My Hero Academia: You’re Next, is set to be released in August 2020, while a live-action film by Legendary Entertainment is in the works.
