Insomniac Games unveiled major new details for Marvel’s Wolverine during a dedicated Deep Cuts panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Creative Director Marcus Smith, Game Director Mike Daly, Sr. Project Director Jess-Reiner-Reed, and Narrative Director Walt Williams took the stage alongside the game’s cast and Marvel Games leadership to share story insights and tease what players can expect when the title arrives this fall.
The panel opened with a brand-new Story Trailer that sets an intense tone for the narrative. It begins with an enraged Logan confronting Jean Grey in a moment of raw vulnerability, while also introducing The Hand as a major new enemy faction and spotlighting Lady Deathstrike as one of the game’s primary antagonists alongside other key characters central to the unfolding conflict.

Insomniac also released striking new key art that captures Logan locked in battle against members of The Hand. The image shows the clawed hero facing off against the faction in their signature red garb, underscoring the shared history between Logan and this group that players will uncover as they progress through the story.
The panel featured voice performances from Liam McIntyre as Logan and Krizia Bajos as Jean Grey, with additional insight from Eric Monacelli of Marvel Games. Together the team provided a deeper look at the characters and narrative direction that will shape Logan’s intense journey across the globe in Marvel’s Wolverine.
A special collaboration with Arc System Works brings Wolverine’s distinctive suit from MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls into the single-player adventure. The stylized look becomes available through regular game progression on day one, while the Battle Reborn suit from Marvel’s Wolverine will appear as free content in MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls beginning September 1.
Award-winning composer David Fleming has created the original score for Marvel’s Wolverine. His dynamic musical cues and swells shift in response to Logan’s emotional and physical trials throughout the campaign, and the full soundtrack is scheduled for release on August 28, 2026.
Marvel’s Wolverine Digital Prequel Comic revealed
Players looking to dive deeper into the events leading up to the main story can now read the official prequel comic written by Narrative Director Walt Williams. Featuring art by Luke Ross and a cover by Iban Coello, the digital issue explores Logan’s complicated relationship with members of Team X during a high-stakes mission focused on protecting mutantkind. The comic is available immediately as an exclusive San Diego Comic-Con giveaway and can also be read online through Marvel Unlimited.
Marvel’s Wolverine launches exclusively on PlayStation 5 on September 15, 2026. Both the Standard Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition are available to pre-order now through the PlayStation Store and PlayStation Direct.
