Both Insomniac Games and PlayStation have finally revealed Spider-Man 2’s first update post-launch. The game recently underwent a day-one update in which the developers fixed plenty of issues that came up in the game’s 1.0 version. Since then, Insomniac assured fans that the additional patches they were working on would come out soon.
The first update after Spider-Man 2’s launch has officially gone live, even though it does not consist of a large number of fixes. Currently, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s update version 1.001.003 is online and mostly just addresses the biggest complaint that players have had in the PlayStation 5 game, i.e., the whole Cuban-Puerto Rican flag issue.
Problems In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
Fans recently noticed that a flag in Spider-Man 2 was displayed as the flag from Cuba instead of Puerto Rico. In the past, Insomniac Games also pointed out this fault and claimed that they would release a patch in the near future in order to solve this issue. In a statement that was revealed along with the update’s release, Insomniac wrote:
While this is the most significant overhaul that took place in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 update, the developers also provided some other fixes. Out of these fixes, one of them is linked directly to the suit from The Amazing Spider-Man 2, as the developers previously claimed that its logo was previously pretty bright.
In addition to this, Insomniac Games fixed another issue in which the character models weren’t showing up after long play sessions, and not only this but they were being displayed as a cube. Most players didn’t have a lot of problems with this issue since it provided a funny element in the game and resulted in hilarious in-game clips showing up on the internet.
For the future, the developers stated that they will continue launching brand-new updates for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in the coming weeks and months. One upcoming patch will also add a New Game+ mode in the game, which fans have been requesting for a long time.
Apart from this, it’s also possible that Insomniac Games will continue adding new suits to Spider-Man 2 with time since they also released a wide range of cosmetic items in the original Marvel’s Spider-Man video game. You can get a complete look at Spider-Man 2’s patch notes below.
