The Blade reboot is one of the most highly anticipated arrivals in the MCU as the title enters into the franchise with Mahershala Ali as the titular daywalker. Unfortunately, the reboot faced various challenges during its pre-production like the departure of director Bassam Tariq, the ongoing strike, the pandemic, and many more. Rumors suggest that the film was supposed to be female-led but budget cuts reveal a more pressing issue for the movie.
Blade is among the fan-favorites in Marvel and following the release of the 1998 film led by Wesley Snipes, the title became well-known to the audience that a reboot would sound great. Having Blade in the MCU would expand the franchise's narrative more with the addition of the daywalker gracing the story. However, the MCU Blade reboot has been plagued with issues resulting to its delay.
In a report from Variety, the promising 2023 release date of Blade reboot turned into a long wait as the Mahershala Ali-led project was plagued with problems involving their productions. The report claims that at one point, the story of Blade was supposedly female-led and packed with life lessons. However, the project already had been through five writers, two directors, and a six-week shut down before production started. Not only that, there were reports that Ali was supposed to relinquish the role due to script issues and that Kevin Feige's trying to make things work, plus the budget was supposedly around $100,000 only as compared to the other MCU films. The speculation shows that the possible release of the title would be around 2025.

There is no official release date or window yet for MCU's Blade as the project faced multiple delays and with the ongoing strike, Marvel Studios, still, cannot put on a mark on the calendar for the reboot. Without any production yet, it would be hard to put on a deadline for the project because it takes time to produce one. As mentioned above, at most, MCU's Blade reboot could only happen around 2025 which is only an estimate. To date, only the voice of Mahershala Ali made its debut in the franchise during the post-credits scene of Eternals where Blade was heard talking to Kit Harrington's Dane Whitman about the sword left to him.
