Kit Harington played a small but important part in Eternals as he was introduced as Dane Whitman. The post-credits scene even showed the character discovering an ancient sword and getting an offscreen interaction with the Daywalker himself. But does this mean Harington will appear as Black Knight in the Blade reboot? The former Game of Thrones star addressed his possible appearance in the highly anticipated Mahershala Ali movie.

In Eternals, Dane Whitman was introduced as Sersi's human boyfriend who gets caught up in the Eternals' struggle against Arishem. But by the end of the film, Dane discovers that he also has a heroic destiny as he comes across an ancient sword known as the Ebony Blade. As he reaches for it, someone asks Dane, "Are you sure you're ready for that?"

It has since been confirmed that the question was asked by Mahershala Ali, who will play Blade in the planned Marvel Cinematic Universe reboot of the same title. This led to speculations that Kit Harington's next MCU appearance will be in the upcoming Blade film.

But is it true that Black Knight will appear in the Blade reboot? Kit Harington recently attended the Superhero Comic-Con and Car Show in San Antonio, Texas where he was asked about the post-credits scene. The Testament of Youth actor stated that although the sequence suggested Dane has a future in the MCU, it didn't necessarily mean he will be in the Blade film.

"The honest answer is I think that’s the intention with the character," Harington said. "I think there was some misunderstanding about whether he was going to be in the Blade movie. He was never meant to be in the Blade movie and isn’t."

Harington also shared his hopes for his character's future in another Marvel project.

"At this stage, I don’t know. At this stage, I hope he gets used," he said. "I know there’s some really fascinating parts of that character which would be beneficial to delve into and interesting, which is the aspects around his mental health things and specifically about addiction with that character which I think is really interesting."

For now, it is unclear whether Eternals will get a sequel. Likewise, Marvel Studios has not yet revealed their plans for Dane Whitman or Black Knight. However, we're hoping to see Kit Harington again in the MCU very soon. In the meantime, he has been confirmed to reprise his role as Jon Snow in the Game of Thrones spin-off project Snow.
