Marvel has officially introduced two new heroes in the franchise’s most recent series, What If…? Season 2. Many other iconic MCU superheroes are also prepared to return to the screens in the upcoming series. On top of those, Marvel is set to add the first-ever original animated hero in the form of Devery Jacobs’ Kahhori. Jacobs seems to be in demand at the moment with her role in What If…? Season 2 and her upcoming live-action debut in Echo set to launch in January.
This shows the amount of faith Marvel Studios has in the actress, who’ll surely take the Multiverse Saga forward. What If…? Season 2 actor Jeremy White shared his happiness in joining the MCU with his historic new role as Atahraks, which is set to debut in Episode 6, titled What If… Kahhori Reshaped the World?
He initially entered the MCU with Devery Jacobs’ Kahhori in Episode 6, showing the two heroes fighting against Spanish colonization in their native lands with their epic superpowers. Created for the MCU, Atahraks and Kahhori are the first two original superheroes who weren’t first introduced in Marvel Comics. The episode premiered on the morning of December 26, with White celebrating the “TWO BRAND NEW Marvel superheroes” that would be added in the latest chapter of What If…? He said:
Tonight at MIDNIGHT, Marvel Studios’ ' What If…?' Season 2, Episode 6, ' What If… Kahhori Reshaped The World?' will OFFICIALLY be released to the WORLD! The world will be introduced to TWO BRAND NEW Marvel super hero’s, the first every NEW fully original characters part of the MCU, the character that I had the honour and privilege of bringing to life on screen!
White also introduced Atahraks to fans and referred to him as "an absolute badass Mohawk," sharing his pride in his Mohawk culture. Moreover, he also teased that "he and Kahhori are going to change the world:
His name is Atahraks, and he is an absolute badass Mohawk. He and Kahhori are going to change the world and people are going to FREAK when they see this episode. I feel so much pride as a Mohawk, for our culture and language to be immortalized on the grandest stage of them all, they way it was done, just all of it! I’m filled with so many emotions. You’ll see what I’m talking about. There will be tears! TONIGHT! LETS GO!!! DISNEY+!!!
White continued hyping up Kahhori and Atahraks in another tweet, in which he once again praised his Mohawk heritage before the episode’s debut:

In the episode, Atahraks can be seen serving as a mentor figure to Kahhori by helping her learn how to use her powers. However, she eventually ends up surpassing the Sky World villagers quickly with her powers of super strength, teleportation, and super speed, which were given to her by the Tesseract in this alternate timeline. Later, Kahhori urges the villagers to go up against the Conquistador invaders who attacked her tribe, successfully teaming up with them to defeat the invaders.
When might Atahraks & Kahhori return to the MCU?
While Kahhori was featured in only one What If…? Season 2 episode, footage from other promotional material hints that this will be her only appearance before the year’s end. Jacobs’ heroine can be seen fighting alongside Hayley Atwell’s Captain Carter, opening up several portals with the help of her powers. However, now the big question is if Kahhori will enter the live-action MCU someday and when that day is.
This is especially considering the fact that Jacobs has another completely different role to play in Echo. Seeing how fans are adoring and praising Kahhori and Atahraks’ debut in the latest What If…? Season 2 episode, it is only a matter of time before a new original MCU superhero enters the live-action journey.
