Insomniac Games recently revealed a handful of accessibility features that will be introduced in the upcoming highly-anticipated Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, including the ability to slow down gameplay. Players can slow down their gameplay simply by touching a button, which is one of the biggest features to be introduced in the game. This feature, coupled with the rest of the accessibility features that were also recently added to the game, is set to pack quite a punch.
Gamers have the option to slow down gameplay by 70% speed, 50% speed, or even 30% speed while also having the ability to return back to the original settings at any time they wish to. It was highlighted by Angie on ResetEra that Spider-Man 2’s PlayStation Store page was recently updated to add a questions and answers section, which has its very own paragraph on the topic of accessibility. Here's what it says:
Furthermore, this interesting feature was also introduced to Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, a game that was also developed by Insomniac Games. This popular video game was greatly praised for its amazing and vast accessibility options. Some other features that were mentioned are on-screen captions as well as audio descriptions for cinematic scenes, and screen reader support, which is designed to read all on-screen text out loud in the menus.
These accessibility features will be coupled with those already present in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. This includes a multitude of options in order to allow a good amount of players to enjoy the fantastic open-world adventure. Insomniac Games will most probably reveal the entire list of features when we get a bit closer to Spider-Man 2’s release.
However, the developers have been releasing plenty of content about the upcoming Spider-Man game as of late after being tight-lipped about it for a year. In July, Insomniac Games revealed a limited edition PS5 along with a brand-new story trailer, announced a chunky collector’s edition in June and also revealed a new gameplay trailer in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. We can’t wait to explore all of these features once the game officially releases; however, till then, we wait.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is set to release on October 20, 2023, exclusively for PlayStation 5.
