Marvel Rivals recently revealed its next wave of Swimsuit Special skins as part of ongoing seasonal content for the live service hero shooter. The lineup includes six new swimsuit skins for iconic characters, including Black Cat, Magik, and Scarlet Witch, each expanding the range of available summer-themed cosmetics across the roster. These additions build on the game’s established pattern of delivering themed outfits that give players fresh visual options for both popular and longstanding heroes in the Marvel universe.

The MarvelRivals X account shared a detailed statement outlining a 3-point plan in response to overall frustration about this latest outfit for Storm. Developers acknowledged the community’s feedback surrounding the Sacred Skies skin and the broader sentiment about the character’s existing cosmetic selection. NetEase used the post to present concrete steps intended to resolve the concerns while asking for continued patience during the rework period.

NetEase will upgrade Storm’s swimsuit skin to Legendary for free “in the near future” as the first element of the plan. The Legendary version will feature a new in-lobby animation for Storm together with an updated MVP animation, yet the skin stays priced at its current $16 level so that players obtain the higher-tier costume for the same cost as the original Epic release.

Players who purchase the Storm skin will receive a free Ultimate effect upgrade in addition to the rarity change. NetEase also confirmed that more Storm Legendary tier costumes are scheduled to arrive later. Whether those future looks were already in development or created after the recent discussions remains unspecified, though the promise demonstrates a clear intention to increase high-rarity options for the weather-controlling X-Men hero over the remainder of the year.

There’s no timeline on when these changes will be made, but it’s clear that NetEase did not expect this reaction to the initial Sacred Skies reveal. The studio has asked the community to remain patient while the upgraded animations and effects are finalized. Further communication is expected once the reworked version is ready for release.

Many players expressed approval of the swift adjustments, highlighting the free Legendary upgrade and additional effects as welcome improvements for Storm. Check out the reactions noting appreciation for the team listening and the positive impact on Storm mains:

Storm’s new Sacred Skies design itself is an homage to the Marvel Swimsuit Special #4 from 1995. The costume recreates key visual elements from that classic comic appearance of the character. This connection anchors the in-game skin firmly in Marvel’s established print history from more than three decades earlier.
