2024 has plenty of exciting anime titles for fans of the isekai genre as many of the popular shows will be making their return this year, including Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Cour 2, Re:Zero Season 3, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3, and Overlord The Movie: The Holy Kingdom. Of course, KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World! is among the ranks, and the isekai anime has released a new recap video detailing what happened in the first two seasons ahead of the third season's premiere.
KonoSuba Season 3 is set to premiere this April, and fans are excited to continue watching the adventures of Kazuma Satou, Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness. Last year, fans a spin-off anime focused on Megumin called Konosuba: An Explosion in This Wonderful World! aired on Crunchyroll, but the gang will get back together in the third season, but if you need a refresher, you can check out this three-minute recap video that sums up what happened in the first two seasons of the anime.
The first two seasons of KonoSuba were animated by Studio Deen, but Studio Drive will be replacing the studio to produce the third season. Studio Drive animated the spin-off series Konosuba: An Explosion in This Wonderful World!, so this is not the first time the Japanese animation studio has tackled this isekai world.
The anime's main Japanese cast are set to reprise their roles, including: Kazuma (voiced by Jun Fukushima) Megumin (Rie Takahashi), Aqua (Sora Amamiya), and Darkness (voiced by Ai Kayano). New cast members announced today include Kanon Takao as Iris, Sayuri Yahagi as Claire, and Reina Ueda as Rain.
What is KonoSuba about?
KonoSuba anime is based on the light novel series of the same title (Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!) written by Natsume Akatsuki and illustrated by Kurone Mishima, which was first published in 2013, and ended in 2020, after seventeen volumes were released. The series has multiple spin-offs and side stories.
Crunchyroll shared the following plot description for KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World!:
After a traffic accident, Kazuma Sato’s disappointingly brief life was supposed to be over, but he wakes up to see a beautiful girl before him. She claims to be a goddess, Aqua, and asks if he would like to go to another world and bring only one thing with him. Kazuma decides to bring the goddess herself, and they are transported to a fantasy world filled with adventure, ruled by a demon king. Now Kazuma only wants to live in peace, but Aqua wants to solve many of this world’s problems, and the demon king will only turn a blind eye for so long…
