Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 finally gave the Shibuya Incident arc its anime debut and that means we'll be seeing more fights in the future. Not surprisingly, the first major fight has already started in Episode 6. However, viewers were a little distracted by the new character who bears a striking resemblance to Chainsaw Man's Aki Hayakawa!
In Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 6, Utahime Iori meets with Tokyo Jujutsu Tech's first-year students to discuss the traitor who allowed the Cursed Spirits to invade the school during the sister event. Iori reveals that Mechamaru is the prime suspect and leads the students to the room where his real body is located.

Unfortunately, the room is empty and elsewhere, Mechamaru's controller Kokichi Muta is meeting with Mahito and Suguru Geto. It is revealed that he made a Binding Vow with Mahito in exchange for the Curse Spirit restoring his body. However, Muta immediately attacks the villains as soon as he is healed.
It's an action-packed latter half of the episode but there's something about Muta that already has viewers talking. Muta's somber demeanor and top knot have drawn a lot of comparisons to Aki Hayakawa, one of the main characters in the anime Chainsaw Man.
That's not the only thing that Muta has in common with Hayakawa. Both characters are already anticipating their demise since Muta's condition (and current predicament) means he won't have a long life. Meanwhile, Hayakawa has already given up most of his lifespan in his contract with the Curse Devil. On a lighter note, both characters got an attractive upgrade from Studio MAPPA in their respective anime adaptations.
But does that mean Muta won't survive until the end of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2? We won't spoil anything for those who haven't read the Gege Akutami manga. On the other hand, Muta himself is already aware that he is on the losing end as he faces off against Mahito. Let's just hope that he manages to tell Satoru Gojo about Geto's plans on October 31st.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 7 is titled Evening Festival ("Yoimatsuri") and will serve as the second episode of the Shibuya Incident arc. The new episode is scheduled to premiere on Thursday, September 7, 2023.
