The premiere episode of the Shibuya Incident arc has just been dropped but the anime is already hyping up what happens next week. The preview for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 7 has been officially released and it also confirms the title for the next chapter of the story.
Jujutsu Kaisen anime's official X account has dropped the teaser for next week's episode and once again, it features a script written by Gege Akutami himself. The preview confirms that we'll get to see the continuation of the fight between Kokichi Muta and Mahito, which started in the latter half of the previous episode. Interestingly, the brief video gives fans a hint on where Muta is getting his strength.
The official title for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 7 is also confirmed in the post. Next week's episode will be called Evening Festival ("Yoimatsuri"), which is also the title of the manga's Chapter 80. If it's any clue, this means the battles will soon be in full swing in the anime.
Who is Kokichi Muta?
Although he might seem like a new character, Kokichi Muta already appeared in the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen. He had a brief appearance during the Kyoto Sister School Exchange Event when it was revealed he was controlling Mechamaru as his proxy. Muta needs the robot to operate on the outside because his fragile and sickly body is confined to a bathtub.
In Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 6, it is confirmed that Muta was the mole who gave Mahito the information he needed to infiltrate Tokyo Jujutsu High School. In exchange, the Cursed Spirit heals Muta's body and as soon as he is able to stand on his own legs, the sorcerer makes his move to eliminate Mahito. As it turns out, he is desperate to inform Satoru Gojo about Suguru Geto's plans on October 31st.
Will Muta manage to defeat Mahito and find his way to Gojo? We'll have to wait until next week to find out.
