Isekai Quartet Season 3 Unveils First Teaser Trailer Featuring Cid Kagenou from The Eminence in Shadow

Isekai Quartet Season 3 is coming, but no release date has been announced yet.

The highly anticipated third season of the beloved crossover anime series Isekai Quartet has revealed its first teaser trailer, showcasing a vibrant ensemble of characters, including the newly introduced Cid Kagenou from The Eminence in Shadow alongside fan-favorites like Tanya Degurechaff, Ainz Ooal Gown, Subaru Natsuki, Kazuma Satou, and Naofumi Iwatani. Season 3 was announced in June 2025, and follows the success of the series’ first two seasons and its theatrical film, Isekai Quartet: The Movie – Another World, which hit cinemas on June 10, 2022. The trailer offers a glimpse into the chaotic and comedic interactions that define this unique isekai crossover.

The teaser trailer includes a look at Cid Kagenou, the cunning protagonist of The Eminence in Shadow, playing the piano, echoing the teaser visual released earlier, which also depicted him at the instrument. The trailer also features returning characters such as Tanya Degurechaff from The Saga of Tanya the Evil, Ainz Ooal Gown from Overlord, Subaru Natsuki and Emilia from Re:Zero Starting Life in Another World, Kazuma Satou, Aqua, and Megumin from Konosuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World!, and Naofumi Iwatani and Raphtalia from The Rising of the Shield Hero. Isekai Quartet has captivated audiences with its chibi-style animation and humorous interactions among characters from some of the most iconic isekai franchises. The teaser trailer for Season 3 highlights the ensemble cast. The addition of Cid Kagenou, known for his flair for dramatic mastermind schemes in The Eminence in Shadow, introduces a new layer of mischief, as seen in his piano-playing moment, which hints at his penchant for theatrics. The trailer suggests that Season 3 will continue the series’ tradition of blending slapstick humor with heartwarming camaraderie, with the diverse cast navigating their shared school setting.

What is Isekai Quartet About?

Isekai Quartet began as a crossover between four isekai light novels published by KADOKAWA, bringing together characters from The Saga of Tanya the Evil by Carlo Zen, Overlord by Kugane Maruyama, Re:Zero Starting Life in Another World by Tappei Nagatsuki, and Konosuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! by Natsume Akatsuki. The premise revolves around these characters being mysteriously transported to a shared world, where they attend a school and engage in comedic, slice-of-life antics. The series’ chibi art style and playful tone amplify the humor of seeing powerful isekai protagonists in mundane, classroom-based scenarios.

The first season, which aired from April to June 2019, consisted of 12 episodes and introduced the core concept of this crossover universe. In 2020, Isekai Quartet Season 2 expanded the cast by including characters from The Rising of the Shield Hero by Aneko Yusagi, running for another 12 episodes from January to April. The franchise further grew with the release of the Isekai Quartet: The Movie – Another World on June 10, 2022, which continued the series’ tradition of blending action, comedy, and camaraderie. The addition of Cid Kagenou from The Eminence in Shadow in Season 3 signals the series’ ongoing evolution, incorporating newer isekai sensations into its whimsical world.
