The developers of Fortnite, Epic Games, are currently busy with their hit Season OG, having gained peak player records in only the first weekend of the game’s launch. However, since the season’s four weeks are going to come to an end, they’ve gotten busy with planning the next chapter. Chapter 5 is set to be released next month, and the latest leaks give fans a first look at the potential new map of Fortnite.
Although the map is still being developed, it does give us a pretty good idea as to what players can expect from Chapter 5. The procedure with this leak also remains the same as others, which is to not take it seriously since Epic Games hasn’t officially confirmed it. The leak was shared by the popular leaker ShiinaBR on Twitter, who received this detail from ImPeQu and GMatrixGames.
Shiina is considered a reputable Fortnite leaker, so there’s a high chance that the image they shared is legit. However, they did claim that this is only a version of the map that’s currently a work in progress. For now, we have an entire month before the next chapter officially launches, so some more changes might be made to what was leaked. Many fans also highlighted in the comments that the map looks somewhat like the Chapter 2 map.
If this does turn out to be true, then it would make sense since Epic is returning to the popular OG Seasons that’s bringing back maps from Chapter 1. Although there will be some differences between the Chapter 2 and Chapter 5 maps, if Season OG comes to an end the same way Chapter 1 did, then returning to a map that resembles Chapter 2’s map might be an exciting way for the developers to continue building the story. Fortunately, Fortnite fans won’t have to wait for a long time to see what the devs have in store for them.
When will Fortnite Chapter 5 go live?
We’re already aware of the exact official end date of Fortnite’s Season OG, which is December 2 at 10 PM ET. This means that there’s a high chance players will be ready to dive into Chapter 5 the very next day. Usually, the game takes some downtime between a particular season ending and the next one beginning, so players shouldn’t expect to instantly hop into Chapter 5.
So far, we aren’t sure what to expect from the upcoming season, but many rumors do suggest that a Lego crossover will allegedly take place sometime during early 2024. It might get introduced in the middle of Chapter 5 Season 1, or Epic Games might decide to unleash it on the players during the second season of the next chapter.
