What is Farming Life in Another World about?
Farming Life in Another World began as a light novel series written by Kinosuke Naito and illustrated by Yasumo. It was later adapted into a manga drawn by Yasuyuki Tsurugi, serialized in Monthly Dragon Age since 2017. In North America, One Peace Books serves as the publisher for the light novel and manga editions.
After Hiraku dies of a serious illness, God brings him back to life, gives his health and youth back, and sends him to a fantasy world of his choice. In order to enjoy his second shot, God bestows upon him the almighty farming tool! Watch as Hiraku digs, chops, and plows in another world in this laidback farming fantasy!
Unlike many isekai titles that revolve around combat, political intrigue, or world-saving quests, this series deliberately focuses on slow-paced contentment. Hiraku wields his cheat-level farming implement—a versatile all-in-one tool capable of tilling, harvesting, and constructing—to turn a remote wilderness into a prosperous, self-sustaining settlement. Over time, the village attracts angels, demons, vampires, dragons, elves, beastkin, and other fantastical races, all of whom find a peaceful home under Hiraku’s gentle leadership. The narrative celebrates themes of cooperation, personal fulfillment, and the simple satisfaction of nurturing land and relationships.
The first season, which aired in early 2023, introduced this comforting premise and laid the groundwork for future developments. With Season 2 on the way, audiences can look forward to further exploration of village life, new arrivals, and the ongoing harmony that makes the series so uniquely relaxing.
The first season of Farming Life in Another World remains available for streaming on HIDIVE, allowing both longtime fans and newcomers to catch up on Hiraku’s initial journey before the second season begins. In Japan, the new season will broadcast on TV Tokyo, BS TV Tokyo, and AT-X, with Amazon Prime Video providing exclusive streaming rights.
