Weak is a legend with nothing left to implant — no chrome at all, in a city where chrome is everything. The final trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 pairs him with D, a nomad chasing revenge, alongside Roman and Talia, and the new key visual stamps the crew "Reckless. Doomed. Unforgettable."
Netflix unveiled the final trailer and key visual for the standalone series. The trailer leans into the show's new leads: Weak, a washed-up cyberpunk legend who runs without chrome in a world that has passed him by, and D, a deadly nomad hunting long-buried corporate secrets.
The preview cuts between the crew's quieter moments and the kind of high-speed, neon-soaked violence the franchise is known for, with Roman and Talia rounding out the central group. Unlike the first Edgerunners, which followed David Martinez's rise and fall, the sequel starts from scratch with a new cast in the same unforgiving city — no returning heroes, just new legends trying to make their stories matter.

No voice cast has been announced for the new characters yet. Behind the camera, Kai Ikarashi directs at studio TRIGGER, with series composition by Masahiko Otsuka, character designs by Ichigo Kanno, and music by Tsuneo Imahori. The pedigree runs deep: Otsuka co-wrote Promare, Kanno served as a key animator on Delicious in Dungeon, and Imahori's music for Trigun remains one of anime's most recognizable scores.
What is Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 about?
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is a standalone story set in the world of CD PROJEKT RED's Cyberpunk 2077 video game, itself based on R. Talsorian Games' tabletop RPG.
The original Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi at TRIGGER, premiered in 2022 and went on to win Anime of the Year at the 2023 Anime Awards.
Its story of David Martinez and Lucy became a phenomenon that sent players flooding back into the game, and the sequel has been one of Netflix's most anticipated anime returns ever since it was announced. The sequel tells a new tale of family, obsession, legacy and perspective, following Weak's search for purpose and D's revenge as their paths collide in Night City — a story shaped, in the show's own framing, by how each character's lens reflects the people around them.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 presents a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge. In a city that shines on excess, when all else fails, how far will you go to make your story matter in the city of dreams?
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 runs ten episodes, and the series premieres on October 20, 2026, only on Netflix.
