Netflix has unveiled an exclusive preview teaser for Culinary Class Wars Season 2, spotlighting the grand arrivals of the elite "White Spoon" chefs amid rising tension in the high-stakes kitchen arena. The footage captures dramatic entrances and intensifying rivalries, setting the stage for a more ferocious competition where outcomes are determined solely by taste.
Building on the massive success of its first season—the inaugural Korean unscripted show to dominate Netflix's Global Top 10 Non-English TV list for three straight weeks—the upcoming installment introduces updated elements, such as new rules, individual duels, and a broader range of culinary styles spanning traditional Korean temple food to global influences.
Producers Kim Hak-min and Kim Eun-ji shared their enthusiasm for the expanded participation: “Gratefully, more chefs have resonated with the spirit of ‘Culinary Class Wars’ and decided to participate.” They added, “We worked hard to properly lay out a stage where the chefs, in gratitude for their courage to take on the challenge, could play to their hearts’ content.”
The White Spoon lineup brings notable international and domestic prestige. Standouts include Jennie Wallden, the 2013 champion of MasterChef Sweden, and Shim Sung-chul, owner-chef of New York's one-Michelin-starred restaurants Kochi and Mari.
Season 2 further showcases seasoned experts with extensive backgrounds, such as Venerable Seonjae, recognized as Korea's pioneering master of temple cuisine; Hu Deok-juk, a leading figure in Chinese cuisine and executive chef at the Ambassador Seoul hotel; and Park Hyo-nam, an acclaimed specialist in French cuisine. Adding institutional prestige is Cheon Sang-hyun, who once held the role of executive chef at the presidential Blue House, Cheong Wa Dae.
Familiar faces from Korean variety shows, including Jung Ho-young, Sam Kim, and Raymon Kim, will compete alongside Song Hoon, a past judge on MasterChef Korea, and Im Seong-geun, victor of Season 3 of Hansik Battle.
On the opposing side, the Black Spoons maintain anonymity through aliases, with identities revealed only for the ultimate winner. Promotional videos and posters have teased a varied lineup of underground culinary experts, all driven to upend the dominance of the established stars.
The preview retains the show's signature black-and-white visual theme, pitting the defending White Spoons against a fresh cohort of challengers, while hinting at returning elements like anonymous judging and possible redemption-seeking participants.
Culinary Class Wars Season 2 premieres exclusively on Netflix on December 16, 2025, with episodes available to stream worldwide.
