Bridgerton Season 3 saw the culmination of the love story of Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan), giving them the happy ending they deserved despite the many problems and issues that came their way. However, unlike the previous seasons, the recently concluded installment didn’t reveal who the next Bridgerton sibling would take the stage. Thankfully, that has changed after Netflix unveiled the next character who will take the lead in Bridgerton Season 4 in a new teaser. True to fans’ assumption, it’s Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson).

Netflix has just released a new teaser to announce which Bridgerton siblings will join the marriage mart in Bridgerton Season 4. The 55-second clip focuses on Thompson’s character as the people in Mayfair talk about the city’s next bachelor.
“I’m honored to accept your acceptance,” Benedict says.
As he’s now set to find the love of her life, the show’s resident artist reveals that the “next thing may change him entirely.” The next scene shows Thompson being asked to get ready to fit his suit. As he refuses, saying he already has an outfit to wear for the night’s event, an unseen man clears that he has to don a different attire for a masquerade ball, which was teased in the previous season and where he’s about to meet his future wife, Sophie.

Luke Thompson, Shonda Rhimes & Jess Brownell Discuss Benedict Bridgerton’s Role in Bridgerton Season 4
From being on the corner of the ballroom, Benedict is now set to take the spotlight in Bridgerton Season 4. He will now be the focal point of the marriage mart as he looks for the mysterious woman, the Lady in Silver. Though he’s known for being “a little lost” always, Thompson told Tudum that he will now discover a stronger sense of himself.
“Benedict has always been a little lost — or free, depending on the way you want to look at it. But now he's trying to find something a bit more solid in himself,” he said.
The Netflix show’s executive producer, Shonda Rhimes, admires Benedict’s talent, which brings vibrancy to the series’ depiction of Regency London. Now that he’s about to settle down, Rhimes is excited for fans to see him in the upcoming season.
“He’s a charming man who’s trying to find his way,” she added. “He’s very delightful and funny. I’m excited for everybody to watch him.”
In addition, showrunner Jess Brownell also expressed her excitement about telling Benedict’s love story after seeing his growth in the first three seasons. Before focusing on Benedict, the series creator saw the need for the character to explore his fullness before he finally settled down.
“He is someone who has big appetites, and we wanted to see him living a big life before he goes into settle-down mode,” she explained. “I’m excited for where we’re going with him in Season 4. There are a lot of things I want to say about it, but I should probably wait.”
