Hajime Isayama is back, along with his genius creation Attack on Titan. Over two years after the manga ended and just before the release of the anime’s final episode, the mangaka announced a new art book featuring the one-shot. Now, the anime’s fan page has unveiled its first four draft pages.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the fan page Attack on Fans dropped major details about the upcoming Attack on Titan one-shot. By the looks of it, it would be titled Bad Boy and feature 18 pages, with illustrations drawn by Isayama himself. It also noted that the new story would be about Levi’s childhood.

Though it’s hard to tell what the images from the draft pages mean, the first preview seems to feature a woman and a child, presumably a young Levi and his mom. The succeeding pages feature a more evident image of a boy who appears to be in pain surrounded by people, while others are just figures.

Hajime Isayama Announced a New Attack on Titan One-Shot

Earlier this month, Isayama announced he would release a color art book featuring a compilation of his works. But someone else did the coloring work for him, admitting he wasn’t good at it. “I believe that this work would not have been possible without the presence of the specialist who has been in charge of coloring Attack on Titan since the beginning,” he said.

The new art book will be called Attack on Titan New Complete Illustrations Artbook and released on April 30, 2024, in Japan. It will feature the 18-page one-shot called Attack on Titan Vol. 35.

As details about the new manga one-shot are scarce, fans have theorized what it may contain. Before the fan page revealed it would be about Levi’s childhood story, some assumed it would feature an alternate ending to the controversial manga finale. Others believe it would be an epilogue to update the fates of the characters who had survived The Rumbling and Eren’s wrath.
