X-Men '97 Season 1 is almost here, with its first two episodes premiering on Disney Plus tomorrow, March 20. Today, Marvel Entertainment has released a new teaser trailer to the sequel series of the popular X-Men: The Animated Series (1992–1997), and it features new footage of Cyclops doubting Professor Charles Xavier's views as Magneto takes over the Professor's role as the leader of the X-Men. Watch the latest X-Men '97 trailer below:

"This is what the +Professor wanted," Jean Grey tells Scott Summers, a.k.a. Cyclops, who responds, "Maybe he was wrong". We also get a glimpse of Jean's baby while we hear Storm say, "We face it like we always have...as a family". The trailer also features footage of the whole team in action as they fight the mutant-killing Sentinels, highlighting the powers of Storm, Rogue, Gambit, Nightcrawler, Wolverine, and Jubilee. We also see Beast, Morph, and Bishop appear with a look at the group before Magneto shows up, wearing his helmet, as he calls the team, "My X-Men".

What is the plot of X-Men '97?

Produced by Marvel Studios Animation, X-Men '97 takes place after Charles Xavier/Professor X's loss in the finale, reuniting fan-favorite mutants, including Wolverine (Cal Dodd), Cyclops (Ray Chase), Jean Grey (Jennifer Hale), Storm (Allison Sealy-Smith), Rogue (Lenore Zann), Beast (George Buza), Jubilee (Holly Chou), Gambit (AJ LoCascio), Nightcrawler (Adrian Hough), Morph (JP Karliak), Bishop (Isaac Robinson-Smith), and Magneto (Matthew Waterson).

The official synopsis of X-Men '97 reads:

The revival revisits the iconic era of the 1990s as The X-Men, a band of mutants who use their uncanny gifts to protect a world that hates and fears them, are challenged like never before, forced to face a dangerous and unexpected new future". The show will explore new stories in the iconic 90s timeline of the original X-Men: The Animated Series .
