The X-Men: The Animated Series episodes in the '90s began with the words: "Previously, on X-Men...". About a couple of decades after the series concluded, Marvel Studios Animation has released a retro-style recap video to get fans ready for the two-episode X-Men '97 premiere this Wednesday. The new animated Disney+ series is a revival of the original Fox Kids Saturday morning cartoon that consisted of 76 episodes in 5 seasons that aired between October 1992 and September 1997.
The nearly-three-minute official recap video that Marvel Studios rewinds the VHS and highlights key moments from first episode of X-Men: Animated Series, titled Night of the Sentinels (1992) until the tragic loss of Charles Xavier in the final episode, Graduation Day (1997), before showing us spectacular footage from X-Men '97. So, if you need a refresher, watch the recap video below before the revival series arrives on Disney Plus:
As previewed in the video, the story of X-Men '97 picks up a day after the events of the X-Men: The Animated Series finale. Magneto is expected to replace Professor X's position as the leader of the X-Men.
