Marvel Entertainment has released a new teaser for X-Men '97, the sequel to the popular X-Men: The Animated Series (1992–1997). The new teaser is titled Hope, and it highlights Magneto taking over Charles Xavier's role as the new leader of the X-Men. "I promise a future free of fear," Magneto (voiced by Matthew Waterson) said in the 30-second video. "Believe in me, my X-Men." We also see Cyclops offering Magneto a mug of coffee, and Magneto cheekily asks, "Poison?" There's also footage of Magneto with his helmet on, using his powers.
The teaser also shows a never-before-seen footage of Gambit and Nightcrawler teaming-up fighting a group of enemies, and of course, more of the other members of the X-Men '97 battling the deadly Sentinels. It looks like the entire team will each have their moment to shine as we see Cyclops, Wolverine, Rogue, and Storm showcase their powers in this action-packed teaser. Beast, Bishop and Morph are also seen riding the Blackbird.
Disney and Marvel Studios have been ramping up the promotion for X-Men '97 despite the recent news that its showrunner, Beau DeMayo, was fired by the studio, and no reason was publicly revealed. Earlier this week, a special behind-the-scenes video featuring commentary from executive producer Brad Winderbaum and consulting producer Larry Houston as well as the returning voice cast, revealed fresh footage while giving us a look at the returning voice actors recording their lines for the revival show.
