X-Men '97, the sequel to the popular X-Men: The Animated Series (1992–1997), will finally premiere its first two episodes in less than a week, and fans are excited to see their favorite mutants return as the story picks up a day after where the original series left off. Today, a new clip released by Rotten Tomatoes gives us a sneak peek at the X-Men fighting the deadly Sentinels to the tune of the iconic music that we loved from X-Men: The Animated Series.
As you can see in the X-Men '97 clip embedded from Rotten Tomatoes' official YouTube channel below, Cyclops, Wolverine, Rogue, Beast, Morph, Gambit, and Bishop showcase their powers against the Sentinels who are programmed to kill mutants. This intense battle scene likely happens in the earlier parts of the revival show's first season.
Disney and Marvel Studios have been in full force promoting X-Men '97 despite the news that its showrunner, Beau DeMayo, was fired by the studio, and no reason was publicly revealed. Yesterday, a special behind-the-scenes video featuring commentary from executive producer Brad Winderbaum and consulting producer Larry Houston as well as the returning voice cast, revealed new footage while giving us a glimpse of the voice actors recording in the same studio.
