After last week's Easter Egg-loaded eighth episode of X-Men '97, titled Tolerance is Extinction - Part 1, which also serves as the first part of the three-part Season 1 finale, Marvel Animation has a new clip for tomorrow's episode, titled Tolerance is Extinction - Part 2. In the clip, Professor X (voiced by Ross Marquand) is reunited with his team of mutants, and they have a difficult mission to save the world from a dark future.
The X-Men '97 Episode 9 sneak peek shows Charles Xavier trying to convince the President that his team of mutants is the "best hope to avoid that future". President Kelly warns him that if his plan doesn't work, he may be forced to take aggressive action, and Professor X tells him they've "been here before", and asks him to trust his X-Men even if he doesn't trust him. While we hear Xavier's conversation with the President, the clip reveals new footage of the X-Men suiting up new comic-book accurate costumes, including Storm's crown, Jean Grey's face mask, Cyclops' iconic blue suit, and Wolverine's classic Uncanny brown and yellow spandex suit. Throughout the first season, the team have been wearing the classic blue and yellow outfits. This scene should excite fans as we expect the penultimate episode to show how the mutants will try to stop Bastion and his powerful new Prime Sentinels.
How many seasons of X-Men '97 are coming?
The first season of X-Men '97 has been well-received by critics and audiences thus far, so it's not surprising that Marvel Studios and Disney have already renewed the show for a second season. During a recent interview with Comicbook.com, Marvel Studios Head of Television and Streaming, Brad Winderbaum, said that viewers can look forward to at least two more seasons of X-Men '97, claiming that the third season is currently being developed.
