K-drama fans will finally see Park Bo-gum and Suzy’s first sci-fi movie together, Wonderland, on Netflix. Previous promotions highlight the lead characters’ sweet chemistry and romantic reunion while giving a glimpse of a tragic event that has changed their lives. Now, a new clip shows their dreamy duet in outer space, proving not even death can stop their love.
You can see the Wonderland clip below:
The new Wonderland clip starts with Bo-gum’s Tae-joo playing a ukulele while levitating inside a spaceship. Suzy’s Jeong-in smiles and watches him perform. She later joins him and touches his face. As Bo-gum starts to sing, Suzy begins singing with him while they affectionately look at each other’s eyes.
Back in May (via AllKpop), director Kim Tae-yong collaborated with the late music director Bang Jun-seok to create a song that would show the connection between Bo-gum and Suzy’s characters in an imaginary world. They decided to let the two sing together, to which the two actors agreed. The track was intended to feel both familiar and fresh, like the Wonderland service the characters used to be together.
Based on Bach’s Air on the G String and arranged by Jun-seok, the lyrics were co-written by Tae-yong, Bang Jun-seok, and Bo-gum himself. The K-drama star based the lyrics on his character’s emotions and titled it WISH: Wonderland is Here.
Despite their busy schedules, Suzy and Bo-gum learned and practiced the song, presenting a beautiful harmony that added depth to their characters. Bo-gum described their duet as a scene that perfectly featured the emotions of Wonderland users. For Suzy, it was the most memorable part of the film after her intense training sessions with Bo-gum before filming.
