Over a month after Wonderland’s release in South Korea, the sci-fi drama movie will soon hit Netflix. In no time, international fans are about to see the sweet chemistry between the two lead stars, Park Bo-gum and Suzy, until a tragic event separates them. However, the official trailer shows how AI will help to romantically reunite the two, though the reality will soon hit them.
You can watch the Wonderland trailer below:
The preview for Wonderland begins with Jung Yu-mi and Choi Woo-Shi overseeing the events within Wonderland. In this simulated universe, individuals can reconnect with their loved ones, who they can no longer interact with in the real world. A woman reveals that someone has told her that she will not realize that she’s dead when she’s in this simulated world.
Tang Wei appears on a dessert, while the next scene shows Yu-mi and Woo-shik connecting different people to their app. Tang Wei starts to have a video call with her daughter after the young kid dies. Bo-gum and Suzy also enjoy a conversation on a big screen while the former is on a spacecraft.
They’re later seen together, sharing a romantic scene while singing a song inside the ship, overlooking the surface of the Earth. However, in real life, Bo-gum is lying on a hospital bed after falling into a coma. Starting to get emotional, Suzy asks her boyfriend where he is and why he’s not coming back.
“I can’t,” he simply says. “I want to, though.”
Suzy is then hit by the reality that Bo-gum is no longer with her. Tang Wei continues to see her daughter over the phone. As the kid asks her to come home, she comes rushing to see her child amid a strong sandstorm.
“Everything you thought was real can turn fake in the blink of an eye,” a woman says.
Suzy comes running to see Bo-gum in the hospital and is surprised by what she sees. As Bo-gum finally wakes up, she feels like the man she is with is “like a different person.” Yu-mi and Woo-shik start to have a problem with Wonderland as something is affecting the other simulation. As Tang Wei tries to touch the world from beyond, the line becomes static.
Netflix has also released its version of Wonderland’s poster, perfectly capturing the lead stars’ different emotions. It shows Woo-shik and Tang Wei looking gloomy while Suzy seems to be daydreaming. Bo-gum looks happy while on the spacecraft, and Yu-mi smiles while talking to someone on the phone. It also finally reveals its much-awaited release date of July 26.
