The Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman has been married to Deborra-Lee Furness since 1996. However, the two recently shared in a shocking statement that they were separating after 28 years of being married to each other. The couple met all the way back in 1995 while being a part of the Australian series Corelli, and got married the very next year. In 2000, their son Oscar was born, and then their daughter Ava in 2005.
This news came off as a huge shock to many fans, who saw the couple together at several events this year, such as Wimbledon in July and the Met Gala in May. Both Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness shared a statement with People, which you can read below:
"We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth. Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives."
The two signed the statement at the end by clarifying, "This is the sole statement either of us will make." On the couple’s 27th wedding anniversary back in April, Hugh Jackman shared a post of them on social media with the caption, "I love you so much. Together we have created a beautiful family. And life. Your laughter, your spirit, generosity, humor, cheekiness, courage and loyalty is an incredible gift to me." You can see the post below:
Hugh Jackman Set To Return as Wolverine in Deadpool 3
After a lot of fan demand, Hugh Jackman has been officially confirmed to return to his role as Wolverine in the upcoming Deadpool 3. The movie is currently set to release on March 3rd, 2024. We hope Disney stays true to this release date, as there is a chance that the movie can be delayed due to the ongoing writer's strikes.
Hugh’s role in the upcoming Deadpool 3 has been well-received by fans, with many complimenting Ryan Reynolds on his efforts to convince the movie star to take on this role. However, Hugh Jackman claims to have made the decision on his own. A TikTok user named @uncrazed asked the actor about this, to which he responded, "I make my own decisions brother."
Jackman recently opened up about his progress on the Empire podcast, stating that the training has not gotten easier, to which he said:
"No, a lot harder. I'm doing eight shows a week right now, so I'm only lifting weights three times a week. But I'll be getting into it once or twice a day as soon as this is done in a month. And I'll have six months to prep, and I always have the same approach every time I go in. I want it to be better than ever, to be in better shape than ever, more able to do things than ever. I just get the added incentive of taking Ryan Reynolds out each day."
The Adam Project director, Shawn Levy, will be taking on the upcoming Deadpool movie, with writers Wendy Molyneaux and Lizzie Molyneaux-Loeglin. It is also reported that Deadpool 1 and 2 writers, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, are also contributing to the script.
Deadpool 3 is set to release in theatres on March 3rd, 2024.
