Of course, it includes questions about Mel’s father, Charmaine’s pregnancy, and Calvin’s possible return to their lives. But it looks like fans seemingly forget about Preacher. So, what will happen to Preacher after Kaia tells him a body has been found in the woods, and her team is now investigating this matter?
For starters, Preacher helped his ex-girlfriend, Paige, bury the body of her abusive husband, Wes, in the woods after she accidentally pushed him down the stairs, resulting in his death. However, Paige has left the Virgin River, probably leaving Preacher to take all the blame if the body Kaia’s group found is indeed Wes.
In an interview with Glamour, executive producer and showrunner Patrick Sean Smith revealed he would be worried about Preacher, as he’s a “beloved character.” “You always want to take your most beloved characters and put them in danger,” he said.
What will happen to Preacher in Virgin River Season 5 Christmas episodes?
Wes’ buried body has been a loose end that needs to be tied in the series. However, Smith wonders if getting back to this story is still worth it. But with Kaia’s arrival, they thought of how her and Preacher's dynamic would be and what could affect their relationship.
“It would have to be something big,” he continued. So, does it mean that this part of Preacher and Paige’s story will be finally put to a close in Virgin River Season 5 Christmas episodes? As Smith revealed, this storyline would eventually reach its conclusion, though it might complicate his relationship with Kaia.
“We will get a resolution as far as what this means for Preacher and get a sense of how complicated this will be for his relationship with Kaia,” he explained.
Virgin River Season 5 Christmas episodes will be released on November 30 on Netflix. Despite it being festive and celebrating the holiday season, there will still be big revelations that will once again make fans’ jaws drop.
