After having its own TV drama and making its way to Netflix, Trillion Game anime is now in the works. Officially announced on September 15, 2023, Madhouse Studio will be animating the new anime based on the Japanese manga of the same name written by Riichiro Inagaki with illustrations by Ryoichi Ikegami. Three years into serialization, the series has already made it big, and here’s everything you need to know about the new anime.

As of September 2023, Trillion Game already had over 1.5 million copies in circulation. It has released seven tankobon volumes as of July 2023, and the eighth volume is scheduled to be released on November 30, 2023. As one of the best mangas of today, becoming one of the 50 nominees for the Next Manga Award in 2021, ranking eighth on Takarajimasha's Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2022 list of best manga for male readers, and placing sixth on the 15th Manga Taisho in 2022, it’s only reasonable that it will be adapted into anime.

What is Trillion Game anime about?

Trillion Game follows the story of two friends, Haru and Gaku. Despite being complete opposites—Haru is a fighter who’s always quick to think, while Garu is an introverted computer nerd who hates people—their relationship clicks, resulting in a strong bond after encountering an incident in middle school. After several years, Gaku is now a university student looking for a job but fails all the interviews because of his behavior. While working as a part-time window cleaner at a big company, Dragon Bank, Haru asks Gaku to do business together. The two are willing to do everything to climb the ladder of success and earn $1 trillion, even if it means they must be selfish.

You can read the synopsis below:

Haru, a badass and quick-witted person, and Gaku, a timid computer geek who doesn't like talking to people. The two, who are complete opposites, deepen their friendship after a certain incident in middle school. Several years have passed since then. Gaku, who is now a university student and is looking for a job, loses all interviews due to his personality. While he was working as a part-time window cleaner at the headquarters of a major company, Dragon Bank, which was his dream job, Haru asked him to start a business together. “We are the most selfish people in the world.” In order to obtain everything in this world, the two of them will earn 1 trillion dollars and run up the ladder, and their extremely unpredictable entrepreneurial survival begins!

Who are the cast members of Trillion Game anime?

So far, Trillion Game has only released two cast members: Takeo Otsuka as Haru and Shoya Ishige as Gaku. No staff and crew have been announced either.

Talking about his role, Otsuka revealed that he was surprised when he made it to the anime after the auditions, as detailed by the anime’s website. He couldn’t even believe his manager and thought it was a lie. So, being a part of the series made the voice actor honored to be the voice of Haru. Hence, he’s now hard at work recording his lines and hopes Trillion Game will turn out as a good anime.

On the other hand, Ishige admitted he cried out when he learned he was cast as Gaku. He found the interactions between Haru and Gaku, along with the other characters, and the story’s development itself very interesting. He wants to see his character live “boldly and delicately” despite the advancing age.
