A new original anime series is about to hit the small screens in January 2024. Produced by MAPPA, known for handling great titles like Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Attack on Titan, Bucchigiri?! will tell the story of a man who gets caught in a fight between powerful fighters. To give a glimpse of what viewers are about to see, the anime has now dropped its official trailer and introduced its characters and cast members. You can see the preview below:
The trailer begins with the Bucchigiri?! protagonist Arajin Tomoshibi introducing himself in front of his new classmates as he switches schools and dreams of experiencing sweet high school days. However, little did he know that the infamous Ichizu High School was full of delinquents.
The next scene features the cute Mahoro. From there, after five years, Arajin is surprised to meet his best friend, Asamine, calling it a fateful encounter, in the same school. Mahoro approaches Arajin, asking him to walk home together if they’ll go in the same direction. The preview then introduces the other students, starting with Zabu and Komao, followed by Jabashire, Hagure, Outa, Kenichiro, Akutaro, and Marito.
But a big reveal is seen when Majin Senya, who seems to be a genie, comes out, asking Arajin for his wish. As the opening theme song, Sesame by Kroi, starts to play, a series of fights between the students begin. “What’s up with these guys?” Arajin couldn’t help but ask. As Senya insists on asking for Arajin’s wish, the latter exclaims, “I…wish to…lose my cherry!!!”

What is Bucchigiri?! about?
Directed by Hiroko Utsumi and written by Taku Kishimoto, Bucchigiri?! follows the story of Arajin as he moves to a new school. Thinking that he will finally get his star to shine, he becomes caught in the middle of warring students who are incredibly strong. He, too, meets his best friend, whom he hasn’t seen for years, here. To make matters much worse, a gigantic man suddenly appears before him, asking for his wish.
