The world is still mourning after Henry Cavill turned in his final performance as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher Season 3. Still, it looks like the Justice League star left a lasting impression on the crew for his intense dedication to his role. Director Marc Jobst has opened up about Cavill's unwavering commitment to the proper portrayal of the White Wolf, revealing that the Enola Holmes actor chose to play the character without any stuntmen.
Marc Jobst is currently promoting for the live-action adaptation of One Piece but he also opened up about working on The Witcher. The director revealed to Screenrant that Cavill was wholeheartedly committed to playing Geralt in every way.
"Look, Henry has done three series, these are demanding shows to make, you know, they are huge," Jobst said. "Henry does every single beat of his stunts, he won't even allow a hand, if you're doing a close-up of a hand grabbing a sword, it has to be his hand."

He went on to gush about Cavill's work in The Witcher. "So, normally, what you do is you bring in a double, Henry will go off and shoot some other scene in which he's in somewhere else, and you get somebody else into the hand, so that you don't have to bother your number one," Jobst shared. "Henry won't do that, and as a result of that, the results are extraordinary. You're working with an incredible athlete, first and foremost, who works out hours before, and hours after, you've been shooting for 12 hours, and who cares deeply about the work that he does."
This is an amazing revelation that most people already suspected considering that Henry Cavill threw himself wholeheartedly into the role. With that in mind, it's only more confusing why he would decide to leave the Netflix series in the first place, especially since he had previously stated he is ready to take on The Witcher even if it lasts seven seasons. Unfortunately, Cavill himself and the producers of the series are not sharing their secrets so the real reason behind the departure is still everyone's guess.
Henry Cavill turned in his final performance as the Butcher of Blaviken in The Witcher Season 3. The role will then be played by Hunger Games actor Liam Hemsworth starting in the fourth season. However, it is still unclear when Season 4 will begin filming. We will keep you updated on this story.
